Sleep Apnea Study

What Is Sleep Apnea?
Sleep apnea is a disorder where breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep, causing oxygenation problems and disrupting sleep quality. Individuals with sleep apnea often feel sleepy during the day, experience loud snoring, and may face increased risks of cardiovascular issues, hypertension, and fatigue. Diagnosing sleep apnea through a specialized study enables timely and effective management of the condition.

How the Sleep Apnea Study Works:
The sleep apnea study is conducted using specialized sensors (patches) that record breathing, heart rate, blood oxygenation, and movements during sleep.

The process involves two simple steps:

  1. Sensor Placement: The patient visits our facility, where the sensors are placed by our doctor. These sensors collect important data throughout the night.
  2. 24-Hour Monitoring at Home: The patient wears the sensors for a 24-hour period, recording sleep activity in their natural environment. After data collection, the patient returns to the facility to have the equipment removed and the results assessed by the doctor.

Benefits of the Sleep Apnea Study:

  • Accurate Diagnosis: It identifies the severity of the sleep disorder, helping the doctor recommend the appropriate treatment.
  • Prevention of Complications: Helps avoid complications from sleep apnea, such as hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes.
  • Improved Quality of Life: With proper treatment, patients experience relief from symptoms, better sleep, and increased energy during the day.

Who Should Undergo the Study?
The sleep apnea study is ideal for individuals who:

  • Snore loudly and experience breathing interruptions during sleep.
  • Feel drowsy or fatigued during the day, even after a full night’s rest.
  • Have high blood pressure or other cardiovascular risk factors.
  • Face difficulties with concentration and memory.
